How Hot Smoked Salmon Found a Home on Our Taco Menu

Hot Smoked Salmon

Not Your Typical Taco Joint

When people hear "burgers, tacos, and brews," they picture beef patties and crispy shells. Fair enough. But one of the things we're proudest of at Brandani's is the range on our taco menu — and the Hot Smoked Salmon Taco might be the best example of that.

Hot smoked salmon on a soft flour tortilla, topped with mango relish and tomatillo sauce. Two tacos per order with black beans and rice on the side for $13. It's light enough for a Tuesday lunch and flavorful enough for a Saturday night out.

Why Smoked Salmon Works in a Taco

Smoking does something special to salmon. It concentrates the flavor, adds a layer of woodsy depth, and firms up the texture so it holds its own on a tortilla. Unlike raw or grilled fish, smoked salmon has a richness that can stand up to bold accompaniments without getting lost.

The mango relish is the key partner here. It brings sweetness, acidity, and a touch of tropical brightness that balances the smokiness of the fish. And the tomatillo sauce adds a tangy, slightly herbal note that ties everything together. It's a taco that covers a lot of ground in two bites.

A Regular's Order

We have guests who come in every week and order nothing but the smoked salmon tacos. Some of them started as skeptics — "salmon at a burger place?" — and converted after the first order. If you haven't tried them yet, this is your sign. Your taste buds will thank you.
